Applied AI Specialist

About the role

We’re looking for an Applied AI Specialist who thrives at the intersection of machine learning, software engineering, and product innovation. In this role, you’ll work on translating the latest advances in AI into real, scalable features that make a measurable difference in our products and user experience.

You’ll collaborate across data, engineering, and product teams to build intelligent systems that go beyond proof-of-concept and deliver value in production environments.

Key responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

• Design and implement AI-powered features that enhance user workflows, recommendations, automation, or personalization

• Evaluate and adapt state-of-the-art models (e.g., LLMs, vision transformers, embeddings) to solve domain-specific problems

• Collaborate with product teams to frame problems, define success metrics, and scope MVPs

• Fine-tune and optimize pre-trained models for task-specific applications

• Build robust data pipelines to support training and inference at scale

• Prototype quickly, then harden for deployment with engineering and infrastructure support

• Monitor model performance and design experiments to validate assumptions

• Contribute to responsible AI practices, including fairness, explainability, and safety

Requirements

What you’ll need to succeed

• 3+ years of experience in applied machine learning, data science, or AI product development

• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML/AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers)

• Experience deploying ML models into production or integrating them into real-world applications

• Solid understanding of deep learning architectures, embeddings, and transformer models

• Ability to translate business needs into technical approaches

• Familiarity with APIs, containers (Docker), and working in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred qualifications

These would be a plus

• Hands-on experience with generative AI, LLM APIs, or vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS)

• Background in NLP, computer vision, or multimodal AI systems

• Experience with prompt engineering or RAG-based applications

• Familiarity with evaluation methods for AI models in production

• Contributions to open-source AI projects or publications in applied AI
